Day by Day Itinerary

Arrival in Bishkek. Transfer to the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, we visit Victory Square (Pobeda Square), Oak Park (Duboviy Park), the central Ala-Too Square, the Old Square, the National Philharmonic, and several other landmarks. In the afternoon, we visit the Ala Archa National Park. During Soviet times, access to this gorge was restricted to V.I.P. personnel. Situated on a foothill of the Tian Shan mountain range roughly 45 km from Bishkek, the Ala Archa Gorge offers a light hike with exceptional panoramic views of the valley. Afterwards, we return to Bishkek. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in a 3-star hotel.

Following breakfast, we drive from Bishkek to the Burana Tower (11th century) and continue onward to the Chon Kemin Gorge. In the afternoon, a 3-hour horseback riding excursion through the mountain terrain, winding through a mountain forest. Reaching higher ground, we are rewarded with a unique panoramic view of the valley. Dinner and overnight stay with a local family (Total driving distance: approx. 148 km).

After breakfast, the journey continues from Chon Kemin to Lake Issyk-Kul, the second-largest alpine lake in the world (1,608 m above sea level). There is time to walk along the shore or simply relax by the water. We then proceed to Karakol, where we visit the Dungan Mosque, built in traditional Chinese style without the use of a single nail, followed by a visit to a historic wooden Orthodox church. Dinner and overnight stay in a guesthouse (Total driving distance: approx. 300 km).

After breakfast, we drive from Karakol to the Jeti-Oguz Gorge, renowned for its striking red rock formations. Here we take a 2-hour hike before continuing our journey to Kochkor. En route, we stop in the village of Bokonbaevo to meet a local eagle hunter. Upon arrival in Kochkor, we visit a local family specializing in the production of traditional felt wool carpets. Dinner and overnight stay with a local family (Total driving distance: approx. 250 km).

Following breakfast, we drive toward Song Kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan's highest alpine lake at 3,013 meters above sea level, enclosed entirely by mountain ranges. We take a 3-hour light hike along the lakeshore. Dinner and overnight stay in a yurt camp (Total driving distance: approx. 105 km).

After breakfast, we depart from Song Kul to Bishkek. The route traverses one of Kyrgyzstan's most scenic mountain passes (Ashuu), offering breathtaking vistas of impressive peaks and gorges. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant in Bishkek. Overnight stay in a 3-star hotel (Total driving distance: approx. 305 km).
